The Authority now has a dedicated customer experience department and plans to introduce annual feedback surveys to gauge taxpayer interactions.<\/p>\n<blockquote data-start=\"1362\" data-end=\"1500\">\n<p data-start=\"1364\" data-end=\"1500\">\u201cThe posture that we\u2019ve taken as leadership is using GRA to bring the human face within the context of customer experience,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<h2 data-start=\"1502\" data-end=\"1524\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Firm_but_Flexible\"><\/span>Firm but Flexible<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p data-start=\"1525\" data-end=\"1784\">The Commissioner-General stressed that while the GRA strives to be approachable, it cannot overlook deliberate non-compliance. The law, he explained, permits the Authority to apply \u201creasonable force\u201d when taxpayers refuse to pay despite having the capacity.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1786\" data-end=\"1905\">Such measures may include directing banks to divert funds from taxpayer accounts or even blocking trading activities.<\/p>\n<blockquote data-start=\"1907\" data-end=\"2081\">\n<p data-start=\"1909\" data-end=\"2081\">\u201cThis is used very rarely. It\u2019s only in situations where the taxpayer has become recalcitrant, and yet we are fully aware that they have funds at the bank,\u201d he clarified.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p data-start=\"2083\" data-end=\"2290\">At the same time, the Authority shows flexibility to businesses facing genuine financial difficulties. Taxpayers in such situations may be granted a six-month to one-year repayment plan to ease compliance.<\/p>\n<h2 data-start=\"2292\" data-end=\"2326\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Defining_the_New_GRA_Identity\"><\/span>Defining the New GRA Identity<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p data-start=\"2327\" data-end=\"2437\">Mr. Sarpong said this blend of respect, flexibility, and firmness defines the Authority\u2019s evolving identity.<\/p>\n<blockquote data-start=\"2439\" data-end=\"2688\">\n<p data-start=\"2441\" data-end=\"2688\">\u201cBefore we deploy what I call reasonable enforcement measures, we give opportunities to taxpayers to take advantage of repayment plans, and I\u2019m glad to say that many taxpayers do.
